Covid Realities

The pandemic spread around the globe in 2020/2021, along with the responses from various world leaders trying to deal with it, demonstrates the gross deception now sweeping across the world. The scripture passage in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 refers to it as powerful delusions that arise for those who refuse to love the truth and so be saved. Behind it is a spirit of lawlessness masqueradering as authorities expressing concern for the well-being of the public; therefore they must give up their rights and freedoms to do their part.

Refusing to love the truth is the cause. But what is the truth? There are two kinds of truth to deal with in this unprecedented challenge for the free world. There are the actual facts of the situation versus an onslaught of misleading propaganda designed to keep people in fear so they are easier to control and manipulate. Then there is Biblical truth which teaches people how to avoid being consumed by fear and instead, find victory over it all through the love of God for humanity. Put the Biblical precepts into practice and watch it happen.

The Bible is full of wisdom about how to over-rule fear and lies with love and truth. As 1 John 4:16 says “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him” [or her]. Verse 18 says “There is no fear in love but perfect love drives out fear.” From beginning to end the scriptures show how the love of God triumphs over fear while rejoicing in the truth.

Without the love, the facts of a situation don’t necessary lead to victory over evil. We can know the truth by digging deep to expose all the lies. We can spend a lot of time documenting the sinister choices of evil people who plot to overthrow the Judeo-Christian world. We can get all the details right and still be no further ahead because all it does is paralyze us with fear. So the most important truth of all, is that God is real, God is love, and to follow His ways is to not only find the truth but be able to put it to full effect by being strengthened in His love. Only one way is leading to complete victory over the all-out treachery the nations now experience through this crisis.

There are very important facts that people need to know about this pandemic. The word itself – pandemic – does not automatically mean we’re in an emergency situation. It simply refers to the spread of a disease regardless of whether it’s extremely harmful or not. It could be said that the common cold is pandemic because it’s experienced globally. To say we’re experiencing a pandemic is not to automatically suggest it’s a calamity of huge proportions. Although in this current crisis, the response could fit that description.

The SARS Coronavirus has been around for about twenty years. Researchers have looked for a suitable vaccine for almost that long, in vain. The FDA (Food and Drug Agency) in USA has rejected proposed vaccines for the same length of time as being unfit for humans because they killed animals. In 2020 the head of the FDA – Stephen Hahn – announced that there would be no approval for the current experimental injections being used as vaccines.

In the meantime the experimental injections that previously failed the human safety tests are now being permitted due to the declaration of an emergency, with the caution that the testing is still being done. They have no long-term results from which to draw any conclusions to ensure their safety. There are no promises that they will work, that a person who gets the shot will no longer get the virus or pass it to someone else. The producers are under no liability for any adverse results and there is no way to reverse the impact after the injection is taken. Yet they are being called ‘vaccines’ which gives the impression they have passed safety regulations and are proven to work. A massive campaign has been launched to to convince people to take the shot anyway.

The question needs to be asked: why the rush? What’s wrong with waiting a year or so, to slowly try an experimental injection on a small group of people first and witness the effects? The facts now show that of those who get the virus, over 99% of them recover fully without needing any kind of vaccine. Of the remaining less than 1%, most are seniors in nursing homes with already pre-existing condtions. For the vast majority of the population it’s the same degree of recovery as for the common flu.

In fact, looking back over the past year from 2021 to 2020, the average death rates for the nations has not changed at all. It’s almost like this virus causing the pandemic is really just the flu, only re-packaged for reasons other than caring about people’s health. Seeing how people in positions of authority have seized power in order to deal with the declared pandemic, and how some are making a lot of money from coming forth with their idea of solutions while everyone else has their financial world disrupted, it’s quite possible we are not in an emergency situation at all; at least not related to our health. The truth can be seen by how willing those in power will be to relinquish that excess power when more information comes to light.

Meanwhile the fear itself is the worst plague of all. The only way for the Church to make sense of it is to understand the truth of God’s Word that we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with spiritual forces of evil in this world and in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).  The people involved are subject to those spiritual forces without even understanding it themselves. Those who don’t know the Lord have no way to realize they’re under such influences. Those who do know Him are still greatly challenged to grow to spiritual maturity so they can deal with it effectively. Even more important than trying to deal with gross deception sweeping over the world is learning how to stand firm on the truth on an individual basis before we can presume to help someone else find the truth.

It requires those who do belong to God to wake up from a spiritual slumber of compromise and complacency to become all God created us to be. Without the Light of Christ beaming through the overcoming Church, the darkness gets darker still.  The need for truth is extreme in the face of deception. The question arises about whether some of those in charge are deceived themselves, or deliberately deceptive, as all kinds of misinformation is spread.

We can expect to see even our most highly educated, well-trained professionals with the best of intentions, not be able to find solutions that work without God’s help. It’s because the Presence of God displaces all those other powers of darkness. Without Him, the darkness prevails. Jesus said that He is the Light of the world, and that those who live for Him on the planet also become the Light of the world (John 8:12; Matthew 5:14). There’s a role that only Spirit-led believers can play to make all the difference. It’s time for the Spirit-led Church to rise up and become all God created us to be in the face of the pandemic. Then He uses us to shine His Light in the darkness and bring as many souls as possible to salvation.

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6). He said “If you hold to My teaching you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).  And Galatians 5:1-2 says “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

To put the whole pandemic issue into a Kingdom perspective requires recognizing that Jesus set the standard for truth that delivers us from all evil into His glorious light. It’s not always enough to try to sort things out in our own power without Him, based on our limited understanding alone.  By  the power of His indwelling Holy Spirit He speaks to each of us in ways as unique as He created each of us to be. He calls us to walk with Him one day at a time and learn to deal with each day as it comes so we won’t be overwhelmed by life’s challenges. The truth is that much of what we fear won’t happen but fear itself undermines our faith to expect good things instead.

The Bible teaches that in the last days there will be such overwhelming trials that only by the grace of God can we get through them. Reject His influence in our lives and we’re done. There are no other solutions but God and His sovereign will for the nations in which we live. So we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness to make our way through life (Matthew 6:33). Then He imparts wisdom and revelation to us that we wouldn’t get any other way. And we heed the many scriptures about following the way of love to be delivered from all fear. In this way the love of God triumphs over all evil and fear-based thinking.

The current pandemic is a way the enemy of God comes against His love at work among His people and their ability to reach the lost for Christ. It calls for everything to be shut down that represents prosperous Judeo-Christian society and promotes a more godless agenda put in place by people who apparently don’t even believe He exists; otherwise, they’d be on their faces in terror of what’s about to befall them for daring to try.

It doesn’t take much to realize that certain things don’t make sense if it’s really about trying to manage a global illness and protect people’s health, while caring about other aspects of our lives. On closer inspection it looks much more like trying to shut down financial systems, put people out of business so they have no choice but depend on governing authorities to ‘help’ them out financially, and coming under a potentially tyrannical way of life in which those in charge of governments no longer see themselves as public servants, but rulers and masters.

Otherwise, if the goal is to stop the spread of a disease why does it make sense to shut down small local businesses and give people no choice but shop for essentials in big department store chains?  Why is it better to have them line up in crowds waiting to get in, rather than insisting they stay close to home and support smaller businesses in their communities to help them make up for their financial setbacks?  Why not designate smaller stores in local areas to be centers of distribution for the essentials so that small businesses can be repurposed and struggling families have the needed income?

It gives people reason to not be able to trust the main sources of information regardless of whether they’re simply making mistakes or deliberately misleading. Parents who want to take full responsibility for their children’s well-being need to think for themselves and do their own research. It’s mind-boggling to learn what is really happening under the guise of protecting people from a disease that, for 99% of the population, is no worse than the common flu.

To do our own research and compare notes with what many professionals are trying to warn us about, is to be shocked at the overwhelming level of distortion and deception. Yet, it’s really happening. Believing parents and families need to learn to walk it out with Jesus to stand firm for their freedoms in Christ. According to His Word, those who choose to follow the way of His love for humanity will then be destined to reign with Him in His Kingdom. They’ll be used of God to bring about many solutions for those trapped in fear and disbelief. Overcoming fear with God’s love is critically important.

There is spiritual truth that comes from Jesus Christ in our relationship with Him, and there are also facts that help to understand the whole truth of a situation. We can expect that people who are not believers will not be able to share the truth of Jesus Christ with us, but some who know what they’re talking about can still offer great insights as well. A growing number of professionals now sound the alarm and produce scientific evidence to explain why. The more we see the attempts to silence them the more we realize we have something to be concerned about. In the end what really matters is that we learn to take shelter in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and concentrate on seeing things from His point of view.

We can draw great courage and inspiration from scriptures promising our protection and deliverance from evil. According to Psalm 91:

“I will say of the Lord ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. … If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the LORD, who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways … Because he loves Me’, says the LORD, ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My Name. He will call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.’ ”

One of the most effective ways to rise above the fear campaign is to claim the promises in God’s Word for those who call on His Name, and speak them out often over ourselves and families. Play praise and worship music often to invite the Presence of the Lord in a tangible way. It all serves to protect us from focusing so much on the wrong things we become like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car. Instead, we walk towards a much brighter Light – the Light of Christ – which exposes the light of the masquerader for what is really is.

Other scriptures to keep nearby and speak out often, understanding what the scriptures say about the power of our spoken words:

Psalm 37:

“Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord: trust Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret with men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret – it only leads to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.”

Isaiah 54:

All your sons will be taught by the Lord and great will be your children’s peace. In righteousness you will be established. Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you. If anyone does attack you it will not be My doing. Whoever attacks you will bow to you. … No weapon forged against you will prevail and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from Me, declares the Lord.”

Read through the many Proverbs that speak of the benefits of wisdom, of humility before God, and how He turns the tables on wicked people for the benefit of those who trust in Him. Proverbs 21:18 says “The wicked become a ransom for the righteous, and the unfaithful for the upright.” Proverbs 24:19 says “Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.”

Ecclesiastes 2:26 says “To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner He gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.”

Ecclesiastes 7:12 “Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.”

Proverbs chapters 1 to 4 speak of the many benefits of getting wisdom from God as a means of sustenance regardless of whatever is going on around us.
