Covid Realities

(c) 2021

The pandemic spread around the globe in 2020/2021, along with the responses from various world leaders trying to deal with it, demonstrates the gross deception now sweeping across the world. The scripture passage in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 refers to it as powerful delusions that arise for those who refuse to love the truth and so be saved. Behind it is a spirit of lawlessness that masquerades as authorities who express concern for the well-being of the public but they are being used by God’s enemy to bring disaster into people’s lives.

It’s very important to remember the scripture from Ephesians 6:12 that the real battle is not with flesh and blood, but different spiritual forces and influences at work in the rulers of this world, and in the heavenly realms. There is only one way to win and that is to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, including the parts that say we share in His glory if indeed we share in His suffering (Romans 8:17). The reason we share in His suffering is that we stand firm for the truth to be upheld, and for His love expressed through faith to work in our lives and reach as many as possible for His Kingdom.

Then we are rewarded with great hope in the face of the world’s despair, peace that passes all understanding when there is war and strife everywhere else, and with provision that comes supernaturally if we need that to happen. He proves Himself to be Faithful and True when we take Him at His Word and ‘Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). He said “Give no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself” (Matthew 6:34). The more we are able to do this, the more we see how He provides supernaturally everything we need, even if we don’t know ahead of time how this will happen.

In the meantime we must face this crisis with the so-called ‘coronavirus.’ One of the biggest challenges is trying to learn the truth in the midst of overwhelming deception. But what is the truth? There are two kinds of truth to deal with in this unprecedented challenge for the free world. There are the actual facts of the situation versus an onslaught of misleading propaganda designed to keep people in fear so they are easier to control and manipulate. Then there is Biblical truth which teaches people how to avoid being consumed by fear and instead, find victory over it all through the love of God for humanity. Put the Biblical precepts into practice and watch it happen.

The Bible is full of wisdom about how to over-rule fear and lies with love and truth. As 1 John 4:16 says “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him” [or her]. Verse 18 says “There is no fear in love but perfect love drives out fear.” From beginning to end the scriptures show how the love of God triumphs over fear while rejoicing in the truth.

Without the love, just knowing the facts of a situation don’t always lead to victory over evil. We can know the truth by exposing all the lies but still miss the most important thing of all which is to be motivated by the love of God (1 Corinthians 13). We can spend a lot of time researching the facts of how certain people are using the crisis to shut down the global economy and rob people of their livelihoods. We can get all those details right and still have no solutions because we get paralyzed with fear. If we focus too much on the evil and not enough on the things of God we will be unable to overcome.

The most important truth of all, is that God is real and God is love (1 John 4:16). To follow His ways is to find the truth and be able to put it to full effect by being strengthened in His love. We overcome all evil by following the way of His love (1 Corinthians 14:1). Find other people to love for God. If we have nothing to share with them in the way of provisions, we can share prayers, hugs, words of kindness. We can pray with them for healing and ask God for miracles on their behalf. This way we triumph over evil and we are used by God to over-rule fear with peace and love. We commit to follow His ways and thank Him that He will provide one day at a time as He promises in His Word, and then expect to see it happen.

There are very important facts that people need to know about this pandemic. The word itself – pandemic – does not automatically mean it’s an emergency situation. It refers to the spread of a disease whether it’s extremely harmful or not. It could be said the common cold is pandemic because it’s experienced globally. The World Health Organization changed its definition of ‘pandemic’ about ten years ago. Before it meant ‘a widespread disease that has a large death toll’, but now it simply means ‘a wide spread disease’ even if there are no deaths at all. To use the word ‘pandemic’ to suggest many people are dying from the virus, is not the truth.

The SARS Coronavirus has been around for about twenty years. Researchers have looked for a suitable vaccine for almost that long, in vain. The FDA (Food and Drug Agency) in USA has rejected proposed vaccines for the same length of time as being unfit for humans because they killed animals. In 2020 when this virus was spread, the head of the FDA – Stephen Hahn – announced that there would be no approval for the current experimental injections being used as vaccines.

Others stand to make billions of dollars from selling experimental injections and don’t seem to care about any extremely harmful effects on humans. They just want the money. A system was set up to report harmful effects, called VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System). It is used on a voluntary basis so not every harmful event is reported. Some have said it only reports about ten percent of the total deaths and injuries. By October 2021 it has reported over ten thousands deaths from people taking the experimental injections, as well as strokes, heart attacks and more. Any other product that caused so many deaths would be immediately stopped but the people promoting the injections are not stopping. They’re looking for ways to force as many people to take them, as possible. Only God can intervene to stop them, and He will when His people call on His Name and cry out for deliverance.

The difference between these injections and any other vaccines is that there is no research done to prove they are safe and effective. People are told the research has been done but if we ask for references so we can read about the results in scientific journals for ourselves, there are no references. The reality is the experiments done with these injections have failed every human safety test and there is no proof that they work. We are warned that a person who gets the injections can still get the virus and pass it to someone else. The producers are free from being held responsible for any harm done Yet they are being called ‘vaccines’ which gives the impression they have passed safety regulations and are proven to work. A massive campaign has been launched to to convince people to take them anyway if they want to continue buying and selling, and living their lives.

The question needs to be asked: why the rush? What’s wrong with waiting a year or so, to slowly try an experimental injection on a small group of people first and witness the effects? The facts now show that of those who get the virus, over 99% of them recover fully without needing any kind of vaccine. Of the remaining less than 1%, most are seniors in nursing homes with already pre-existing condtions. For the vast majority of the population it’s the same degree of recovery as for the common flu. The truth is there is no need to take a dangerous injection for a virus when our own immune systems are well able to overcome it. And most importantly there is no need to fear becoming sick and dying with the virus. The fear itself is the big problem.

The fear itself is the worst plague of all. The Bible says we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with spiritual forces of evil in this world and in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).  The people involved are subject to those spiritual forces without even understanding it themselves. Those who don’t know the Lord have no way to realize they’re under such influences. Some who commit great evil do so because they don’t know a better way. If they see they are unable to control people through their own fear, but instead it causes the love of God to rise, it can be a great testimony to them that God is in control. It may lead some to repent and try to help solve the problems. It may lead some to surrender their lives to Christ.

It requires those who do belong to God to wake up from a spiritual slumber of compromise and complacency to become all God created us to be. Without the Light of Christ beaming through the overcoming Church, the darkness gets darker still.  The need for truth is extreme in the face of deception. But so is the need for God’s love. When we learn the truth we also need to speak the truth in love, and let love do its work in our midst.

We can expect to see even our most highly educated, well-trained professionals with the best of intentions, not be able to find solutions that work without God’s help. It’s because the Presence of God displaces all those other powers of darkness. Without Him, the darkness prevails. Jesus said that He is the Light of the world, and that those who live for Him on the planet also become the Light of the world (John 8:12; Matthew 5:14). There’s a role that only Spirit-led believers can play to make all the difference. It’s time for the Spirit-led Church to rise up and become all God created us to be in the face of the pandemic. Then He uses us to shine His Light in the darkness and bring as many souls as possible to salvation.

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6). He said “If you hold to My teaching you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).  And Galatians 5:1-2 says “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

The Bible teaches that in the last days there will be such overwhelming trials that only by the grace of God can we get through them. The pandemic is a way the enemy of God comes against His love at work among His people and their ability to reach the lost for Christ. It calls for everything to be shut down as the enemy of God comes against the Church, and promotes a more godless agenda put in place by people who don’t even believe He exists.

We can try to fight back in our own power, or we can seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and pray for Him to give us His wisdom each day, to reach as many people with His love. It’s still important to learn the facts of what is really happening but also necessary to share the truth in love.

To do our own research and read what many professionals are warning us about, is to be shocked at the overwhelming level of distortion and deception. Believing parents and families need to learn to walk it out with Jesus to stand firm for their freedoms in Christ. According to His Word, those who choose to follow the way of His love for humanity will then be destined to reign with Him in His Kingdom. As His Word says “If we endure with Him then we will reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12). We’ll be used by God to bring about many solutions for those trapped in fear and disbelief. Overcoming fear with God’s love is critically important.

We can draw great courage and inspiration from scriptures promising our protection and deliverance from evil. According to Psalm 91:

“I will say of the Lord ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. … If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the LORD, who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways … Because he loves Me’, says the LORD, ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My Name. He will call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.’ ”

Another powerful way to overcome evil and fear is to sing God’s praises as much as possible. We can play praise and worship music often to invite the Presence of the Lord in a tangible way. As Psalm 22:3 says “He inhabits the praises of His people.” When we are afraid and feel there are no solutions, singing praises to God can change everything.

Other scriptures to keep nearby and speak out often, understanding what the scriptures say about the power of our spoken words:

Psalm 37:

“Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord: trust Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret with men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret – it only leads to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.”

Isaiah 54:

All your sons will be taught by the Lord and great will be your children’s peace. In righteousness you will be established. Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you. If anyone does attack you it will not be My doing. Whoever attacks you will bow to you. … No weapon forged against you will prevail and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from Me, declares the Lord.”

Read through the many Proverbs that speak of the benefits of wisdom, of humility before God, and how He turns the tables on wicked people for the benefit of those who trust in Him. Proverbs 21:18 says “The wicked become a ransom for the righteous, and the unfaithful for the upright.” Proverbs 24:19 says “Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.”

Ecclesiastes 2:26 says “To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner He gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.”

Ecclesiastes 7:12 “Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.”

Proverbs chapters 1 to 4 speak of the many benefits of getting wisdom from God as a means of sustenance regardless of whatever is going on around us.
