Nothing is more powerful during times of hardship than to raise a cry of praise and worship to Almighty God in the midst of it. Psalm 22:3 says that God inhabits the praises of His people. The original King James Bible says “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” He literally takes up residence in our lives when we give Him the highest priority in times of peace and when we are struggling to bear up under the pressures of life in this world.
The example shown in 2 Chronicles 20 tells us there are times when we don’t have to fight a battle that seems inevitable otherwise IF we will do things God’s way. In this account Israel’s enemies were about to attack them but God said “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions, stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem.” The leader, Jehoshophat, led Israel’s armies to raise up a cry of praise to God in their enemies’ faces, saying “Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good. His mercy endures forever.” Then the Lord threw their enemies into confusion so that they turned on each other while Israel stood undefeated.
It works the same way today. Whatever is coming at us from any source, a powerful solution is to refuse to be motivated by fear into simply reacting and get proactive in praising God. All around the world the praises due to His Name come forth in a glorious global victory cry for the Kingdom of God, even while we face increasingly uncertain times. This section is meant to get people motivated so we begin our days with songs of praise and worship to God. Then watch Him do the rest to defeat all His enemies coming against us.
